On October 24th 2019, the order banks opened for the new SEAT Mii Electric. The city car can now be bought with a 36.8kWh lithium-ion battery, providing up to 161 miles (WLTP) of driving range. Charging to 80% takes only one hour using a Rapid Charger, or four hours on an AC 7.2kW home charger.
There is only one trim for the Mii Electric, the standard equipment of which offers fantastic value-for-money considering the £19,300 (including the £3,500 Government Grant) starting price. The car will be available in five colours: Deep Black, Candy White, Tornado Red, Chester Blue and Tungsten Silver - all of which are made up of metallic paint and are at no extra cost.
Standard features for the exterior include 16-inch Cosmo Grey matte alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, heated front & rear windows and dark-tinted rear windows. Inside the cabin, heated front sports seats, a leather steering wheel, a leather gear knob & a leather handbrake lever form the basic equipment.
There's no lack in technology either. The city car is available with rear parking sensors, hill hold control, lane assist, cruise control, traffic sign recognition, air conditioning, comfort suspension, rain sensor wipers and smartphone integration.
With the latter, drivers will be able to install the 'Drive Mii' app to their smartphone. This transforms the user's device into an extension of the car, allowing access to information on departure times, parking position, driving data, vehicle stats and well as the status of doors and lights. The climate control can also be remotely operated.
83PS and 212NM of torque is created by the electric motor, which will propel the car from 0-31mph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 81mph. The Mii Electric has an insurance group of 12E, meaning owning and running the car will come with significant monetary benefits.
