Ford Mach 1 EV to have 370-mile range
Ford have announced that their upcoming Mach 1 EV crossover will offer a remarkable 370 mile range, that would eclipse competitors including the Audi Q4 e-Tron and even the Tesla Model X. The new model is expected to be revealed towards the end of the year, prior to a production version release in 2020. The promise of this new model is very enticing - with the brand aiming to bridge the versatility of a traditional SUV with the performance and design of the iconic Mustang models.
The Mach 1 was first teased at the 2018 Detriot Auto Show, where darkened teaser images were released showcasing some of the Mustang-inspired styling cues. This included the infamous Pony illumnating the front of the vehicle, with muscular bodywork surrounding the front fascia. A rear image also showcased tail lights that seem almost identical to the ones in the latest Mustang models.
Whilst full specifications are yet to be confirmed, we do know that the Mach 1 will be powered by a lithium-ion battery with a expected capacity of around the 120kWh mark. The power will be delivered through an all-wheel drive system and will be developed by Team Edision - the heavily invested sub division of Ford that specialises in electric and autonomous vehicles.
