Due to arrive in the UK by the end of the year, the i7 will later be joined by 7 Series petrol and PHEV options in 2023. Pricing for the EV will start at £107,400.
The xDrive60 variant will be available from launch which has a 252bhp electric motor at the front and a 306bhp electric motor at the rear, that combine for a 536bhp and 745Nm torque output.
The i7 will also be able to go from 0-62mph in just 4.7 seconds with a top speed limited to 149mph. A 101.7kWh battery means that it’ll be able to travel up to 388 miles on a single charge.
On the inside, an 8k 31.3-inch ‘Theatre Screen’ is optional. This unfolds from the ceiling for those sitting at the back to watch TV using Amazon Fire tablet software. 18 speakers are provided as standard which can be upgraded to 36 on the right spec. Touchscreen panels that are built into the doors allow passengers to change what's playing on the big screen.
A 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 14.9-inch digital instrument system create BMW’s Curved Display at the front. A BMW Interaction Bar also stretches across the dashboard that has a control surface and ambient lighting that can provide visual feedback to drivers for incoming calls and warnings.
